I love looking at textures in the natural world and this inspiration always seems to end up in my work somehow. The challenge for me is to see how different glazes, firing techniques and clays react to my textured surfaces. I make unique vessel forms on the potter’s wheel or by hand building. Much of my work is fired in an electric kiln but I also have been working with the process of Raku and building and firing a soda kiln at Westbury Arts Centre where I have my studio.
