Britain’s coast and the Chilterns provide inspiration for making three dimensional objects. Observing subtle changes of surface, texture and colour I record the infinite details and marks which then lead to the making of intensely stitched pieces. Drawing and visual research is fundamental to my practice and the development of my work. I use natural materials and enjoy constructing with fabric and thread. These materials are often hand dyed to give gentle variations of colour. The making process is slow, giving me the space to evaluate and adjust technique as needed.
