Dorothea Reid
My work is sculptural and mostly about the marine environment. The “bleached coral” work is made using plants and white casting slips. I also make art about our exploitation of the North Sea - from whaling to North Sea Oil - and our need to nurture this resource more sensitively. Several large installations and prints about marine conservation can be viewed on my website. I also make quirky and colourful ceramic shoes - like most women I have an “Imelda Marcos” gene lurking somewhere!
