Deborah Hopson-Wolpe
Letter forms, lettering and drawing have always been part of my work. I make thrown ware with impressed and resist inscriptions and prints with lettering and drawn images. Both working with clay and printmaking are similar in that the final result is only seen when the kiln is opened, or the print taken from the press. I like overlapping techniques from clay to paper and back, and the act of imagining something and then making it.
